Apr 9 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 has been released !

It has a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration, for mosaics even faster! We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. Improved Outlier Rejection with LN 2.0 rejection. macOS CMD+A works now in file chooser ! And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming hours...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Just another thought while working on my laptop.  I have the software on my iMac which has a nice size screen, but my dedicated astronomy laptop is obviously quite a bit smaller.  It would be wonderful to be able to toggle the image preview size to a larger size while editing.  Possibly to different increased sizes all the way to full-screen to view the image, then hit a resume size button of some sort. This would be great when working on a smaller computer like a laptop when away from home.

Also under the "load" button,  you can't expand the window on the Windows version like you can on the Mac version just by hitting a button to view all your files in the working directory, would be nice to be able to see more of the saved files in the window to expand to full screen.  It would be much easier with a button than having to use the mouse pad on the laptop to drag it larger............. your thoughts....  thank you, Michael.

Hi Michael @w3tbcptd-net,

The ability to expand the image viewer to full screen is on my ToDo list 😉

I am not entirely sure what you mean here. There are no differences between the Windows and Mac versions with regards to the GUI.

Do you mean the ability to see the bottom frame list panel maximized? That is possible with all supported OS's MacOS, Linux, & Windows. But I think you refer to something else?

A larger preview window would really be appreciated!
