May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !

Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.

Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Good morning,

After waiting nearly 4 months for them, my Astrodon 5 mm S2 and O3 filters finally came last week and two nights ago I had a clear night to get my first full spectrum NB image with the QHY 600. I've been loving the amazing detail in LRGB and Ha, so I knew that the addition of these filters would really make for some amazing images. I was not disappointed!

The workflow in APP for NB is somewhat different than WB, especially fixing star colors, which I still have a lot of work to do on. But being able to create an image that closely matches the amazing ones that I've seen of this target over the years just makes me so happy!

Beautiful! Nicely done! Yes fixing or changing star colors is more challenging with narrow-band, you can't use the star color correction tool for that as that requires broadband data.

Vincent,

Thank you sir. I used the RGB combine tool and the HDR tool to do most of it, then finished in PS. There is a new revision on the Astrobin that I did this morning that got rid of most of the magenta in the stars and brought up more of the other primary colors. Looks like rain here for the next 6 days starting tomorrow night, but tonight is clear, so I'm going to try to capture the second half of the mosaic I have mapped for this target to gather most of the central region to combine with this one.

Have a great weekend!

Eric
