Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I guess something goes wrong with my Flat but I can't explain what.

I added my Flat and it's a kind of green I think it should be white ?

How can I try now an Integration without a Flat. Without start over from zero.

You can just integrate without flats, you can even do that without any calibration files. But when taken properly they ofcourse help a lot. In this case I'm not sure what happened, the integration looks really strange, hard edges etc. The flat can look greenish, that's not necessarily an issue, I don't see any dust though so either your sensor is very clean or you're not taking the flats at the focus of your lights.

Here comes some Problems together, some I figured out right now.

My sensor is not fully used because this the not used edges.

My goto drive lost more and more his position after hours, maybe because the windy day I will check some screws. This is the reason for the Egg shape of the Halo

Now I did one Processing without Flat, now it looks like in the First case everything goes right.

I just can guessing this red Halo comes from the Achromatic Telescope what I use.

After some Crop and PS i got a Result looks ok for that weather. (I was shot 4h but the most pictures can't use)

The Flat was Taken after Focusing.

So the top picture is without flats and the bottom with flat? If so, the flats have a problem then.
