Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing an annoying issue when performing the calibration of a set of exposures.
I'm using an ASI294 camera and what happens is that the dark calibration doesn't seem to operate properly and the flat calibration reports the attached critical message.
The problem is that what appears in the message doesn't corresponds to reality.
The lights and the darks have the same exposure and parameters (300s, gain 121, offset 8) and the same happens for flats and dark flats (0.422s, gain 121, offset 8). So I really don't understand why the system is not calibrating correctly.
Thank you for any suggestion or guidance you may provide on the topic
Piergiorgio
@plicciar Hello Piergiorgio,
to your luck I had the same issue a few months ago, but in the older versions. Look if your darks are properly and the flats seems to be to short exposed. The Asi 294 mc pro needs flats also darkflats at 3-5 sec. exposure and and average adu of 24000-25000k. As my darks where faulty, I had the same calibration warning and as I do new darks it works fine then.
Can you show your darks and flats in asiviewer, if you shoot with the asiair. And also show the histogram of the flats etc.!
The next thing I know is, that the 294 works fine with a offset of 30.
Best regards and clear skies!
I show you my issues with my older and faulty darks. And with this I had become the same warning.
@tobiasthale thank you for your response.
I know that, in order to get a better result, the IMX294 would require longer exposures. And about the offset I have found different positions (for instance I use offset 30 with the IMX533).
But this should affect the final result and not the integration process.
I mean, why the system is asking for files with the corresponding exposures and gains when they are there?
It seems like the system is not able to correctly match the darks with the corresponding lights and the flats with the corresponding dark flats, even if the capture parameters are correct.
Seems like the system is searching for something else...
Back to your suggestion, unfortunately, re-capture flats and dark flats is not possible as flats are useless if they are not taken under the very same conditions. And this is not applicable if you have to re-mount the setup.
Anyway thank you once more for the support
