June 24 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta46 has been released !

Improved internal memory configuration (lower ! memory usage), fixed beta45 startup issue, fixed Set Save Directory & 2-panel mosaics.

May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !

Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I am using Darks, FLat, Bias.

I get this message:

Failed on all 33 frames.

I know the light subs are good.  Shot with  ASI294MC Pro Cooled to -10.

I can run everything through Nebulosity and the image comes out great.

I have run other images through APP with no problem, this just started 2 nights ago.   Tonight with all new subs it again failed.

I have set the (Kapa) down to 1.5 after reading some other post on the subject, but it did not help.

Thank you! So the first thing I see is that it's not in focus, so maybe APP disregards many. Could you try to set the pattern recognition from quadrilaterals to triangles (Tab 4) and see of that works?

I know the focus may be a tad off but I would think not that bad.

Well, sorry to say but the focus is pretty off. The FWHM is about 17, while normally you should be around 2-3 most of the time. Could you upload a second of the frames that failed? I can then see if I do get them registered as the one above, APP did find enough stars to do that.

Also, did you change any other settings or are these all at the default?

All other settings at default.

I used the focus assist in the ASIAIR.   I have a focus mask on the way.  Hope it gets here before my trial runs out.

You can ask for an extension to your trial if you want, if you need that bit of extra time to test it that's fine.

I will do that.  I think my trial ends in just a few days, will be after the 15th before I can purchase it.
