Jan 31 2026: APP 2.0.0-beta40 will soon be released with many fixes especially for Linux, upgraded development platform and 10-20% performance boost !
Jan 15 2026: FIXED LICENSE SERVER VPN Tunnel issue
The issue could have prevented APP to start when using a VPN tunnel or another complicated network configuration, like using APP on a remote computer on a different continent. This issue is fixed now and APP should start normally.
Jan 04 2026: Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version. Unfortunately, Mabula was struck by a severe flu virus in the past couple of weeks and thus could not work. He is getting much better now and he has resumed work to release 2.0.0 as soon as possible. Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Nov 28 2025:Â APP 2.0.0-beta39 has been released !
I have been running APP on my M2 MacStudio running Sequoia and it has been working fine. Â I updated to the latest version of Sequoia 15.1.1 and now APP takes forever to load and if/when it does if I load up some subs it starts but then crashes. All of my data resides on the internal SSD. Â I have 128Gb of Ram and 2Tb of free disk space. Â Resources should not be an issue. Â Sorry for the double post. Â I thought the first post did not work as I waited a while and it looked like the website had hung. Â This post has more info than my first.
An update. Â I have no clue why but it's now working. Â Obviously something in the background was making it not work but it is now.
Hi Phillip Hoppes @rimcrazyphyahoo-com,
Okay, maybe the macOS update itself caused some problem in the OS? Perhaps after restarting your mac, all is fine now? Can I close this topic and also the other one that you opened with this issue?
Please let me know if the problem happens again though.
Mabula
You can close this. Â I am not sure what was going on. Â If it does it again, repeatedly after multiple days and reboots I will post again but for the moment it's just one of those mysteries of life. Â Thanks.
I have seen the same with almost the same setup. MacBook Pro M3 Sequoia since updating the OS to 15 (not just latest release). It does not happen all the time, but seems to do so randomly, so it's not just the OP. When this happens, which again is not all the time, I usually force quite and try again and it will work after 2-3 attempts. I'll post here if I uncover any other potential reasons or a way to reliably reproduce the error.Â
Hi @rimcrazyphyahoo-com and @anrake,
Please check on macOS Sequoia 15.2 and later with APP 2.0.0-beta32 which you can find from the download links. All seems to be working well now I think. It looks like there was a bug in the earlier macOS Sequoia or some bug fix from our end has solved it now.
Can you confirm this?
Mabula
Â
Indeed, I ran APP several times the last couple days and no problems. Â Thanks!
