May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !
Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.
Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
How do I address this problem when I get messages that I am running out of space ? Can I add more space? If so, how?
I have 2 TB of space in my cloud drive...can I access that? what can ido to solve this problem?
An external SSD drive that is USB3+ should also work and may be a bit cheaper. 🙂 It's always recommended to use internal SSD drives where possible, if going external you should make sure it's as fast as possible as APP is doing a lot of writing.
@hcdv are you serious $8,000 for a USB drive that’s more than my whole rig is worth, that’s ridiculous 😮😮😮

Dear Terry @tsnapp,
The easiest way would be to use an external drive like a usb disk or perhaps a network share. My personal experience with cloud drives is less good, it will be slow.
Ideally, you want an extra internal drive with a fast connection to the internal bus of the cpu. The downside of USB is that it is always limited to the speed of the USB port. For disk Input/Output in integration the latency of the drive is more important than the speed of the drive. That is where internal SSDs shine compared to external SSDs.
The cheapest and best solution i think would be something similar to a Samsung portable SSD drive. I have been using a Samsung 2TB portable drive for a long time. Not expensive and not that slow still.

I have solved using an external usb c drive, and using it as a working directory. But not a simple one. I recommend this one from Amazon. A little bit expensive but the faster i have ever used
That could work as well indeed 😉

@astroshed, please do not judge other astrophotographers and stay respectfull. We are all different people with different habits, abilities and bank accounts.
That price could be simply meaning that supply for that model is extremely limited. The memory market is having some issues clearly. Prices have gone up siginificantly in the last year for USB sticks like this. Maybe this Kingston model is simply not even available ?

I was actually not disrespectful at all, and never mentioned the OP, or the fact he had purchased it, I just made a comment about the high price, so I think you are totally over reacting here TBH, it is worth more than my whole rig, that much is also true, why am I not allowed to have an opinion on how much something costs, are we not allowed opinions on this forum now ??
it’s getting as bad as the PI forum here if that is the case

Hi @astroshed and @hcdv, no problem here 😉 I already assumed the price was not actually what it looked like ...
