Hello,
Even with integration of 20 lights APP has been freezing the desktop needing hard reboot.
Tried suggestions on forum and reduced allocated memory to 16GB, turned off openGL4 and reduced threads to 10 out of 16 available.
The reduced threads helped with the smaller integrations and openGL4 didn't matter.
When trying integration of 54 lights in 4 sessions using MF, MDF, MD and MB it hangs again!
Desktop specs - windows 10 with intel i7/32GB Ram/Nvidia GTX 1650/SSD 1TB
Any help is appreciated 🙂
Interesting, what version of APP are you using?
@vincent-mod APP version 1.083-beta3. Reduced the threads to 6/16 and ran again with same data set and it worked.
The stable release of 1.083 is also available now, some errors have been solved in that as well. You can find the link on top of the forum.
@vincent-mod Even the stable release froze the computer. Retried with 6/16 threads and it worked fine.
Mmm, quite strange and it makes me think there might also be an issue on your system specifically. I tend to up my threads to all I have -1 and my memory use to 30 out of the 32 GB I have. Never froze here, is there some other software you might have that really stresses your system just to check the system itself?
@vincent-mod TeamViewer & google drive were running. Stopping TV didn't help!
@vincent-mod Solved! The problem was due to Google drive. All files loaded into APP were in Google drive folders with offline access enabled. However, GD ran into errors when APP used 15/16 threads. Copied the files locally and everything executed smoothly with default settings in APP.
This error came to light when examining Event Viewer on the desktop.
Thanks.
That is a great find! I wouldn't have guessed that. 🙂 It's indeed always better to process data locally on preferably an internal SSD. Was GD still syncing in between maybe?
