Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
@mabula-admin Nice to read you Mabula and to be able to enjoy this beta 30 version.
My thoughts also go out to Vincent and his family, we can only wish him a speedy recovery and thank him for all he has done for APP. We can't wait for you to be back in shape to continue your contribution to this excellent astrophotography software.
I'm also one of APP's first users, and I've always believed that this application makes a difference. I still use it with great satisfaction and pleasure. What some people don't understand is that you're a perfectionist, Mabula, and you'd never release a version of APP that you weren't completely satisfied with... That's what makes you and APP such a great value.Â
Wish Mabula, Vincent and family, and APP all the best!
André
Hi André @andrecajolais,

Dear @mabula-admin,
I'm glad to see updates flowing in regularly, as was the case before. I'm quite happy with the product.
It's so easy to complain... so please accept my congrats about the great work.
Best regards,
Rodolphe
Hi Rodolphe @rodolgo,
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback! It is our pleasure and we are also happy đŸ™‚ with the current situation. We aim to go further like this and give APP a great future.
Mabula
@vincent-mod Good luck & best wishes Vincent!
Thanks Timothy! All is still looking good fortunately. đŸ™‚
The auto-stretch function "Auto Under" overexposes bright highlights significantly. Can fix?"
Hi Dave @rustyd100,
Thank you very much for your question. Can you show a screenshot perhaps if what you are seeing? Without some visual guidance it is hard to understand what you are referring to. You can attach a normal screenshot in jpg or png without any problem.
Thanks,
Mabula
Hi @mabula-admin I saw last time new scripts on the social media called veralux and there was another new one, idk the name. It's for PI and siril.
But is this possible in your Astropixelprocessor?Â
Dear Stefan @stefanastro,Â
I have also seen that on Facebook for Siril. If you can refer me to the Veralux source, I will have a good look đŸ˜‰
After the 2.0.0 release we will soon work on better image stretching for sure.
Mabula
Hi Stefan @stefanastro,
Thank you very much. I have added this to my todo list to work on better stretching in APP after the upcoming 2.0 release đŸ˜‰
I need to make it more intuitive, color preserving and much faster for sure đŸ˜‰ so I will do major work on this after 2.0 for sure.
