Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

FWHM is easy. Shape...not obvious to me. Is it a measure off eccentricity? Would a perfect score be 1.0, or 0.0? Is the axis of eccentricity in the number somehow?

I was long curious about this too.

Mabula provided a definition in this post:

That's certainly a useful overall quality metric. But I have to say the decomposed results would also be very useful. I use those figures for more than just deciding whether or not to include a sub in the integration, after all -- it's also a diagnostic for acquisition problems.

Max/min FWHM is more or less a decent proxy for median FWHM (although I'd certainly like to have that too). But standalone roundness would be very useful indeed. I might have nice round but bloated stars from poor seeing or overexposure, but if they're not round, that's a horse of a different color -- means I gotta fix something in my guiding or tracking.
