Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
I installed version 1.075 Bata4 today. Directly after starting APP was told that GL4 (green) is active.
After loading a light frame the button changed to OpenGL (orange). A change to GL4 is no longer possible, not even by pressing the OpenGL button. Loading an image is now very slow.
Is there an error here?Â
Windows 10 Home
I have the same exact problem as well. Once I load a light frame GL4 turns from green to orange.
Thanks everyone for letting us know. I informed Mabula about it.
And I just got word he's aware of it and working on it.
Thank you very much for your feedback. Then I wish you a lot of success in solving the problem.
Greetings 😀Â

It should be, I have it on my Mac mini 2012. It's an issue with the beta and already fixed for the next release.
I have a similar problem with the official release version 1.075 I just installed. I am now unable to run under OpenGL (orange) but am forced to GL4 (green). I'm running Win 10, latest version, and Intel UHD Graphics 620 with latest drivers on a Toshiba Yoga 920. On previous versions I was able to run OpenGL. Display still works but appears slower. Any thoughts?
Mmm, not right away, is GL4 not simply OpenGL 4? If that's green it should indicate it works and clicking on it will deactivate OpenGL and that's why it's orange.
@vincent-mod
Ahh, I suppose GL4 could just be short for OpenGL 4... the pop-up help says if OpenGL is not supported then it will be orange, but upon further reading I see GL4 is simply the abbreviation. I appreciate the very quick response!
Yep, I agree that can be a bit confusing because of the different names for the same thing. Glad it is cleared up though!
