Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I've been coming up against a problem frequently, but not consistently. With some integrations, APP will get 'stuck' on analyzing one frame for LNC, for no apparent reason. It's only using 7% CPU, so it doesn't really seem to be DOING anything at all. I have an M3Max with 128GB of ram, plenty of HDD space.

This is actually most common on smaller integrations, in this case 3 frames of a mosaic panel. I use the same settings every time (unless actually integrating all the mosaic panels), so I can't really figure out what is causing this. Cancelling and re-starting results in the same hang at the same point.

I always let it go for 40-60min before cancelling, which is many, many times longer than it takes to completely process a much larger stack.

Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this? Or what best practices are to fix problems like this?

Update: I let it go for 2hrs, and it never made any progress. I'm going to start from scratch again and hope for the best. They're all just RAW files, and they work fine in other software, so it's not a corruption issue...

Update 2: There appears to be no way for APP to continue to work. It will not complete processing of any image set I feed it, including ones I've already successfully processed.

I tried stepping back to the previous build, but that then throws a new error (repeatedly - you have to click okay ~20 times).

Is there another place I should go for support? This is still happening on certain data sets, and the software is just... really buggy.

I know I'm doing things right, because about 2/3 of the time, it works flawlessly!

I took a risk and paid the subscription fee in hopes that I'll get some support to get this working, but I don't see any contact info other than this forum, which has no replies.

Josh,

There does not seem to be any support at present. Vincent is away dealing with a serious medical issue (see thread here: https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/main-forum/concerns-about-the-future-of-app/#post-31083 ) and Mabula seems to have vanished - which is very odd, unless something has happened to him too. No one knows what is going on I'm afraid.

Jon

That's certainly frustrating, but understandable on Vincent's end, of course.

Hopefully all is well with Mabula, and things can get back to normal soon...

Thanks for chiming in with that info Jon.

When doing a mosaic I normally will do the LNC on each set that I am going to toss into the mosaic, then stack the master lights and if it sticks on LNC I will stop it and then stack the masters again with LNC turned off. Just make sure to have advanced set on the normilization tab. Also, I have noticed if I have integration set to per session and all that can do the same thing so only allow it to do LNC per session.

It looks like Mabula is on a vacation. This is from his Facebook page. Lets hope he will be back soon.
