Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

APP 0%, OS 0%?

Hi all,

Not exactly a problem, more a curiosity - when I run APP on my laptop, no matter how much or little RAM and/or CPU I use, the APP and OS indicators always say 0%. My more powerful PC always registers percentages.

Maybe my laptop is redefining classical thermodynamic theory?

Thanks, Brendan

haha Well, not sure really, it may be that APP is still using all resources? Can you post a screenshot of how it looks?

Ah, sorry, only just realised you'd replied.

Basically, imagine APP, but with APP 0% and OS 0%!

Screenshot attached. My other (slower) laptop also registers percentages, it's just my Lenovo Thinkpad T440P that doesn't.

Hi BrendanC @brendanc,

That is very odd to say the least... I have no clue at the moment how this could happen. I can only imagine that our library that detects this somehow can't communicate with your motherboard/cpu somehow. How old is that Thinkpad T440P? I think it is rather a new model right?

Actually it's quite old, I think.

The official product launch seems to be around 2013. I bought this one second-hand because they're built like a tank and very easily upgraded.

It's really not a problem for me, I just thought I'd mention it! I doubt you really need to fix this. As I say, it's entirely possible that my laptop has somehow broken free of the bonds of thermodynamics and is right now reducing entropy, thereby reversing the arrow of time.

Thanks for responding anyway.
