UPDATE FROM MABULA

I have had a very rough 2 months unfortunately health wise. I was struck 3x in a row with bacterial infections. The second infection occurred  after a routine hospital checkup and I became very sick. I had to rest and take a lot of antibiotics. Once I was recovering and restarting work 1 month ago, I again became sick. The infection was not yet gone, so even more antibiotics and rest was needed. Needless to say, it took a lot of my energy and I needed a lot of rest.

Finally, the infection is really gone and my energy is coming back step-by-step now and I have started work again. I am terribly sorry to have kept you waiting for support. I will address all outstanding questions and e-mails step-by step and will be on the forum daily from today.

APP 2.0.0-beta47 will come soon as well, a lot of work was already completed before I became very ill, so the release is also nearly ready for you. Beta47 will be much faster actually. Many workflows will be more than 2x faster, mosaics can even be 10x faster than before because registration really received a major boost... all compared to beta46.  Before I release it, I will make sure that everything is working properly and then I will release it.

My try at the Comet and the new beta registration

These are 58 minutes of subs at 30s and 60s from last night.  One is done without the comet registration and the other with. Worked good for me. Just wondering how others got the stars to not trail when using the comet registration. A bit confused, but thanks for great update, looks much better after the comet registration

neo MONO session 1 lpc cbg mod cbg csc SC St

. Still learning.

Interesting result on the right indeed, but great to see APP working here. 🙂 In a follow-up version you will be able to remove the trails better, but people now use aggressive outlier rejection for that, sigma clipping.

Hi. I've just had a play with the Beta Comet stacking, here are my results... These were 25 20 second images with Hypercam 183C ProTec and Starwave 80ED. Couldn't get the light pollution tool to work though...

C Neowise F3 2020 rejection lpc cbg St
C Neowise F3 2020 no rejection

@vincent-mod Hi. I could not process out the orange light from light pollution that was affecting my view of the Comet. No idea why? Tried a few times. Always happy for any advice.

Should be possible, maybe it does then affect the faint comet tail, which can be a negative thing about it in this case. I would need your data to try myself, if you want you can upload it to our server;

Go to https://upload.astropixelprocessor.com and use upload1 (or upload2 till 5) as username and password will then be the same as the username.

Create a directory named “charles-thody-orangebackground” and upload in there. Thank you!

Ok so to me the data looks really good. Also after LP, I'm not seeing light pollution to be honest.

After first integration:

After LPC:
