Jan 15 2026: FIXED LICENSE SERVER VPN Tunnel issue
The issue could have prevented APP to start when using a VPN tunnel or another complicated network configuration, like using APP on a remote computer on a different continent. This issue is fixed now and APP should start normally.
Jan 04 2026: Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version. Unfortunately, Mabula was struck by a severe flu virus in the past couple of weeks and thus could not work. He is getting much better now and he has resumed work to release 2.0.0 as soon as possible. Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

today I installed the latest version of APP and tried to process C/2022 E3 ZTF. During registration I noticed that the button(s) for comet nucleus detection are not within my screen. Now I do realise that my screen has limited resolution, but would appreciate if you could move the button(s) so that even at this resolution they stay within view.

just re-installed 1.083.2. In that version the window was scaled up to accommodate the buttons:
Alternatively I wonder if it would be possible to add a button to hide the right hand panel (at this point it is not being used).

Yes, that is correct. That NUC has its own screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1024px and that is not enough to show all buttons in APP 2.0. In APP 1.083 it did work because the window was automatically stretched to something beyond 1280 pixels.

My workarond to this issue is to press the CFG button and then to set the image viewer in a separate window. The relevant buttons are then visible.
The change can be reversed when your comet registration is finished.

I have added to our issue list that comet processing should work properly with a resolution as low as 1280 x 1024px 😉
I will work on the comet processing in the coming days and weeks so I will make sure this is fixed as well.
