2023-09-16: APP 2.0.0-beta23 has been released !
Improved performance again, CMD-A now works in macOS File Chooser, big improvement for bad column cosmetic correction, solved several bugs
We are very close now to releasing APP 2.0.0 stable with a complete printable manual...
Comet registration buttons not visible
today I installed the latest version of APP and tried to process C/2022 E3 ZTF. During registration I noticed that the button(s) for comet nucleus detection are not within my screen. Now I do realise that my screen has limited resolution, but would appreciate if you could move the button(s) so that even at this resolution they stay within view.
just re-installed 1.083.2. In that version the window was scaled up to accommodate the buttons:
Alternatively I wonder if it would be possible to add a button to hide the right hand panel (at this point it is not being used).
Thanks for reporting, we will have a look at this. We're away to London from tomorrow onwards, so please allow for a week to get a further response, sorry for the delay.
no problem, I will be patient (but cannot wait to test the features).. 🙂
And I'm back again. 😉 So I happen to notice there's a teamviewer instance running, are you looking at APP via a remote connection?
Hi Vincent, welcome back, hope you enjoyed it. 🙂
Yes, that is correct. That NUC has its own screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1024px and that is not enough to show all buttons in APP 2.0. In APP 1.083 it did work because the window was automatically stretched to something beyond 1280 pixels.
It was awesome yes, short, but great after not able to do it for 3 years. 🙂
Ok, then it indeed seems a resolution issue. I'll ask Mabula.
My workarond to this issue is to press the CFG button and then to set the image viewer in a separate window. The relevant buttons are then visible.
The change can be reversed when your comet registration is finished.
thanks. I just checked that and only see these options:
As there is no option to set the image viewer in a separate window in this CFG, I am not sure what you mean.
hmmm, I was not awake yet, found it in version 2.0:
Will test it asap, thanks again! 🙂
I have added to our issue list that comet processing should work properly with a resolution as low as 1280 x 1024px 😉
I will work on the comet processing in the coming days and weeks so I will make sure this is fixed as well.
