Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

2.0.0.39 will not start - .38 is fine.

Hi, I've recently installed the latest windows version 2.0.0.39. It will not start. Even if I go to the installation folder and double click the .exe it does not run. After trying to start it Task Manager does not show it as a process or an APP. (I've also tried running it as administrator)
2.0.0.38 ran/runs with no issues. I have tried .39 as an install over .38 and also as a fresh install (I used windows uninstall to remove .38) but it simply does not start. I'll just carry on using .38 for the time being but as I have a fairly mainstream system and OS I thought I'd flag it as a possible problem.

@tonygibbons55, many users ( I was also effected ) did report that BETA39 does not start, see please link below ( the discussion ).

I did solve the matter by removing the older version of APP ( uninstall ) and start my computer new, and then installing the APP39.

Regards and good luck

Martin

@tonygibbons55 Do you have the astropixelprocessor-2.0.0-beta38.jar and the astropixelprocessor-2.0.0-beta39.jar in the C:\Program Files\AstroPixelProcessor directory? The upgrade from 38 to 39 had me with both.  I renamed astropixelprocessor-2.0.0-beta38.jar to astropixelprocessor-2.0.0-beta38.jar.bak and 39 fired right up.

@artem @szumi Thanks. After uninstalling .38 and then installing .39 several times over the last few days I've just done it one last time and .39 started straight up?! And they say a sign of stupidity is constantly repeating what you've already done and expecting a different outcome ... 🤣
