Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
I've computed the correct RGB white balance offsets for ASI585MC, and they work in GIMP but they do not work in APP: These amounts should produce a balanced image, and do in other software but not in APP.  Please allow these RGB multiplier to work to set the white balance (its says custom white balance), and to save as presets per camera.Â
Above that part you can select to use the camera white balance, doesn't that work?
Hi Skye @skysong,
Thank you very much for raising this to our attention.
I am wondering how you can calculate white balance values yourself. Can you share how you calculate this? A white balance in astronomical sense will definitely not be a fixed value for Red, Green and Blue, it depends on the actual data that you want to process, that is rather technical.
But that aside, it could be that the balance for your ASI585MC is also in the fits header and that would not be by definition a real white balance but rather a correction for the relative sensitivities of your camera's sensor in the different wavelengths, do you know if it is in there?, in the fits header I can check that and I can test for you what is going here and possibly fix this for you. Yes, presets for camera's can be a good addition, i agree.
Can you upload the data here and let me know once uploaded, then I will have a look and get back to you:

Please make a folder with your name and issue like: Skye-WhiteBalance-ASI585MC
and upload your data there and let me know once done, thanks !

No that will not work, that is only applicable to camera Raw data, so images from Canon, Nikon, Sony etc... (see the popup menu).

@mabula-admin Thank you, I will upload samples shortly.  I appreciate your taking a look at this. I calculated the white balance by looking at the QE charts for the camera itself, such as the green was 90%, blue 77%, and red 85%, so using these I've calculated a general color adjustments and they make the picture look much better, but they are not perfect. So if its supposed to be calculated on a per-image basis, I wonder why APP is not already doing this.
Mabula I have uploaded to the folder given for analysis. I have included RGB lights for photos 4..120 (3 were lost, different issue). These were stacked to single fits file by APP, also included and uploaded. These give the greenish results.Â
Hi Skye @skysong,
Thank you very much, we have received the upload in good order 😉 I have added your issue to my todo list so I will get back to you soon.
