June 24 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta46 has been released !

Improved internal memory configuration (lower ! memory usage), fixed beta45 startup issue, fixed Set Save Directory & 2-panel mosaics.

May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !

Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.

Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

How to create different channels? I got OSC.

Hello APP users,

I am just new with this program and I got Asi294mc pro, with bortle 6.

I got andormeda light frames with L-pro and dual NB L-enhance filter.

How can I split the L-pro in RGB channels and the dual NB L-enhance in HA, HB and OIII?

@stefanastro Hi Stefan,

For the L-Pro data, you can process the data up to and including integration. Then load the integration result as light (don't load any calibration data), go to tab 2 and click the (re-)assign Masters to Lights button. This will seemingly do nothing but it is an important step for APP. Then scroll further down in tab 2, enable the split channel checkbox and click the SAVE (calibrated) Light frames button.

For L-eNhance, it is not possible to split H-Beta and OIII since both are captured by the G and B pixels of your camera sensor. To split off H-alpha, go to tab 0 and select the Ha-OIII extract Ha algorithm. Then load the data as you normally would in tab 1, go to tab 6 and click the integrate button. When APP is done, return to tab 0 and select the Ha-OIII extract OIII algorithm. Go back straight to tab 6 without making any other changes and click the integrate button again.

HTH, Wouter

Okay, dank je wel Wouters, thx. Ik probeer het als meer  lights heb van de L enhance. Ik wacht voor goed weer.

Thx.

@wvreeven hi,  this is a long time ago i  sent the last reply.

I read your last explanation,  and I read that I only must load the L pro light frames and re-asign master light and after that select split channels and save it.

After that is done, do I have to remove the l pro light and add the L enhance to extract the HA and the OIII with the calibrations frames and follow the process to integrate.  But how do integrate the splitted r g b channels with the calibration frames?

Because I want to use the button combine colors in the tools. I got the M101 and I want to use the channels R G B HA and OII.

Do you have a good video tutorial for OSC  cameras about this processing

Hi Stefan @stefanastro,

Is this solved or do you need assistance still?

After that is done, do I have to remove the l pro light and add the L enhance to extract the HA and the OIII with the calibrations frames and follow the process to integrate. But how do integrate the splitted r g b channels with the calibration frames?

Yes, remove the l-pro lights and then add l-enhance lights. The L-pro stack simply must be splitted into R,G,B stacks so you can then combine them with the L-enhance Ha and OIII stacks 😉

Yes it was done, i got it now. I keep learning about the mosaic and splitting channels. I got them now.

Only big challenge is the dualband SII-HB, how to extract both in APP. Even i spoke with a woman who works in the store Ganymedes Amstelveen and she is also busy to find that out. Only need clear sky to test the filter.

I also saw a new dualband filter from Askar OIII-SII, that's looks easier in APP i think by using HA-OIII extract OIII, and same with SII extract HA. I guess?

Hi @stefanastro,

SII like H-alpha is in the red part of the spectrum, so extract Ha will extract SII with a SII-Hb filter 😉

H-beta is almost 500 nm, so very close to OIII, you will get it you extract OIII.

If you get such a filter, feel free to send me some data so I can test and possible adept by creating new algorithms like SII-Hb extract Hb 😉

@mabula-admin okay thx I'll do that when we got clear sky here and I got enough data with calibration frames for I'll let you know. 😉

@mabula-admin a week ago I used the SII-HB filter. I got some data. Friday I want to get more. Do you also need the flat frames?

Hi Stefan, @stefanastro

That is great, yes please provide me with a set of frames including calibration frames 😉

You can upload them here, thanks !:

Please make a folder like : Stefan:SII-HB-data and let me know once uploaded.

@mabula-admin Good evening,

I uploaded my SIIHb data, its a mosaic of the soul nebula. I had more frames but APP shows that some of them had dispersion and looked bad. Also after intergration i wanted to create a mosaic but i failed. Maybe you can try it?

Soo i hope next time with my new WO Pleiades to take more frames of the Orion or the Soul with the SIIHb filter. I hope you create a new extraction to extract Hb, Sii works but combining RGB tool with the Hb is not easy.

Why is that 2nd Ha light data not working with my mosaic registration?  What means intergrate Ref or in the tab RMS REF?

Hi Stefan @stefanastro,

Thank you very much for the upload 😉 ! I will have a look at the data.

Why is that 2nd Ha light data not working with my mosaic registration?  What means intergrate Ref or in the tab RMS REF?

It is working ! That is the reference frame, REF(erence) 😉 So the other frames are registered/aligned and normalized to the reference frame.

Since it is the reference frame, it will never have a registration RMS error.

The integrate mark indicates that the frame is included in the integration. If you reduce the stack % at the top of 6) Integrate, you will see that no all lights will have integrate in that column, so those frames will not be included in the integration.

Thanks I could help you. I discoverd I forgot to uncheck something. It was I thought the distortion correction  in tab 4. It was checked and that's why my mosaic was like a circle. So I uncheck it and it was normal.

But I have to finish it in PS in my holiday amd I post it in the forum.
