Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hi,

I am testing APP before buying. I have Maxim DL today.

When doing some of my images in APP there is a "dotted" line in many places.

They do not appear when using Maxim DL with same flats.

How to get rid of these and why are they present?

Regards,

Mats

Hi @mats,

Welcome to the Astro Pixel Processor forum 🙂 !

Those dotted lines are hot pixel streaks. You can easily solve that by using a Bad Pixel Map which you can create in 2) Calibrate. Have you created one? You can create one from your MasterDark (and MasterFlat).

In addition, depending on the amount of the data, any remaining hot pixels after calibration can be removed by either using median or average integration in 6). And enabling an outlier rejection fitler.

Please try this in APP 1.076 which was just released today, because it will do it automatically for you, that is setting average/median, and enabling outlier rejection 😉

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Hi Mabula,

I downloaded the new version, did only the settings in step 6 and the hot pixels disappeared.

Will take some darks, flats and so on later.

Thanks,
Mats
