Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and itĀ will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hello, just starting with APP and Ifairly novice in astrophotography. I took 43 x 4 minutes frame of the Orion belt (canon 70d full spectrum & 200mm f2.8 prime lens ) . Not sure what went wrong in the process (see image below ) it looks like 4 images mis aligned.

I don't see an image in your post, please use the "attach files" link under the reply box.
Ok, that's not normal indeed. What APP version are you using and did you leave everything on automatic settings? What exactly was your workflow, from you data and in APP?
edit: I do see that in the image there are no values for the stars and quality etc. I also see that the exposure of the subs is at 0 seconds, so something is wrong here with the data. What did you use to capture the data and are these the RAW files or already processed somewhere else?
I am using version 1.082. I have loaded raw files (canon Cr2) directly from Sd card. It worked before...
@vincent-mod my work flow is simple : load lights and calibrate frames directly from Sd card and leave all the settings as they areĀ
So you're working on the SD card itself, is that also your working directory? If so, that would not be advised as it's way slower than a regular harddisk and I can imagine for the amount of work APP does on disc, it may cause issues.
@vincent-mod . Yes maybe you are right . Will transfer everything on hard disk. Still funny though that I tried four times from SD card and four times same results . Will try again from hard disk and let you knowĀ
Yes, not sure this is the issue, but at least I know this wasn't a correct workflow. So to get to the bottom of the issue, a good starting point is nice to have. š
@vincent-modo BINGO !! You nailed it ! Thanks for your help ! Next coffee an me ! 😂Ā
Excellent! š I do like a nice Espresso please.
