Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hi all,
I have had quite some fun with my OSC camera, the Optolong L-Enhance filter and the way you can extract data with APPs dedicated extraction algorithms for Ha-OIII. So recently I took the plunge and got myself one of those relatively new dua narrowband SO filters for OSC cameras to add ‘the third color’, The Askar Color Magic C2 to be precise. Yesterday I finally had some clear skies for a few hours and ended up with only half on hour of light frames. Now I am quite familiar with the OSC Ha-OIII workflow in APP, but there is not something similar (yet) for OSC SO. I can do plain RGB and then split later in PixInsight but I would also like to see if I can extract the S and the OIII channels in APP, and do combine RGB in APP with the data from my L-Enhance filter. Just select OIII or SII as algorithm? Can someone advise here how to process this data? Thanks!
@anofeles That is what I was looking for. Thanks!
Hi Tom @tvanpeer,
Is all working nicely now? I will soon add more of these algorithms for other narrowband filters.
Mabula
Hi Mabula,
It worked well, thanks for asking. I used extract-Ha for Sii and that worked fine. And I am also finally coming to terms with the Combine RGB tool thanks to the video by Ryan Voykin of DarkRangersInc. And I am very much looking forward to those new extraction algorithms!
