Jan 31 2026: APP 2.0.0-beta40 will soon be released with many fixes especially for Linux, upgraded development platform and 10-20% performance boost !

Jan 15 2026: FIXED LICENSE SERVER VPN Tunnel  issue

The issue could have prevented APP to start when using a VPN tunnel or another complicated network configuration, like using APP on a remote computer on a different continent. This issue is fixed now and APP should start normally.

Jan 04 2026: Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version. Unfortunately, Mabula was struck by a severe flu virus in the past couple of weeks and thus could not work.  He is getting much better now and he has resumed work to release 2.0.0 as soon as possible. Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Nov 28 2025:  APP 2.0.0-beta39 has been released !

It is a major update with a new and much improved registration engine and much better Multi-Narrowband processing !

Is there GPU rendering implemented yet? Considering an eGPU

I saw an announcement over a year ago about this but not sure if it was ever implemented. I have an i7 mac mini and could add an external GPU, but it doesn't make sense if GPU is not supported yet.

Not yet no, this is a big operation. We first switch to a new Java version. Vulkan support is something we want to have, but that's rather complex. So for now it doesn't add a lot of speed to have a beefy GPU, I also think that when we have that support, a regular GPU will already proof to be faster. So my suggestion would be to wait for that investment. Please also first check with us by then if the external GPU is possible, just to avoid issues there.

Check this link:

Starnet works very fast with CUDA but your program runs slowly with CPU.
It would be good if you could make support for GPU available, as it would greatly improve the program's speed and user comfort.

Yes, like I mention in the comment above, we are going to implement that but it's a big operation. 🙂

On the off chance are there any rough dates for gpu support?

I.e. Q2 2022?

Im just trying to work out if I should upgrade my Cpu now or wait for GPU support 🙂

Sorry, impossible for me to judge. I know we want to start some small tests this year, but I really can't predict how that will go. I think, if you have a relatively decent GPU already, it will become faster anyway when supported. A good multi-code CPU is always nice to have also for APP.
