Clear all

Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I always have a kind of Halo around. Hard to Explain but easy to see, so I send you the Original Data.

(Yes i know on the Final picture is still some dust i figure out my camera has an Automatic Cleaning Program this is now Disabled so in Future the dust should be in the Light too)

Maybe you can give me an advice how to make better lights or its just an setting Problem ?

Looking at your data now;

- Your masterflat doesn't have any dust showing up in it. It also seems to be of a too low signal, the unstretched histogram is all the way to the left as you can see below; it should be more or less in the middle.

- Looking at your master integration, indeed I still see dust so in this case the flat isn't correct and it's better to leave flat calibration out if that's the case as it can cause more issues instead of a nice correction. Not sure, but maybe this also causes this ring around your data, can you try an integration without using flats?

@vincent-mod

Without flat, it's not better.

I read do Flats in the 33% area (Histogram), so I try next time 66% around (the peak)

Yes I find out, my camera did an automatic cleaning program on every start so every time on Battery Change the Dust Situation Changed I switched off this now. But this shouldn't be the Halo problem. Hopefully next Clear night coming soon.
