Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
I'm a real beginner and have used APP for a short time. I have processed a number of images in APP and then tweaked them in photoshop as a TIFF. Today something strange happened, after processing an image and then saving it as a TIFF, Photoshop only shows a very flat image of a few stars, not the processed file I created in APP. This has never happened before and I haven't changed my process I don't think?. I have added a couple of screen shots, the one on the left from APP and the same file in PS. Any advice gratefully received bout what I'm doing wrong

PS I hope I have put this in the right place!Â
Make sure that you havent saved in 32 bits TIFF.
Hi John @jao2020,
Thank you very much for your question and welcome on the APP forum !
Okay, if you save an image like a TIFF with the save button below the histogram on the right side, make sure that the stretch selectbox is enabled. Without the stretch, the image is saved without the stretch that you see in the preview window.
Please let me know if that solves it?
Like Stefan @digitaliz-se indicates, it us usually better to save it as an 16-bit TIFF, because some versions of Photoshop by default will not use the enclosed ICC profile in 32bits TIFFs and then the colors can look differently in Photoshop. With 16bit TIFFs all should be fine.
