Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hi,

before changing my config, I did some tests, I found a defective ram stick (4x8Gb ddr3), I removed it and started again,
200 files (canon 6d, raw), default option, now it works,
but if I activate the 1st degree lnc / 2 iterations,
app crash without error message. (after 1h30 of calculation, just after the lnc)
Lack of power? however it was working normally until now.
Hardware problem?

Tried with 1.082 and 1.083b1

I7 3770k

3x8 Gb ddr3 1866 (xmp2)

Intel SSD 545s

Windows 10 pro

Thank you 😉

@yeantbron Hi,

Do you set the working directory on the USB stick or on the SSD? If the SSD, did you copy the CR2 files to the SSD or do you leave them on the USB stick?

In any case, APP shouldn't quit like that. Does this also happen if you do not enable LNC?

@wvreeven

hi and thank you,

working directory and cr2 files set on SSD,

before I find the ram defective, it crashes all the time,
now that i have removed it, it crashes only with the lnc activated.
(I tested the same integration 5 times, 2x without lnc : works, and 3x with lnc activated : crashed)

@yeantbron That's not good. Are you able to reproduce this with a smaller set of files? If yes then please upload them to a directory named yeantbron_lnc_crash at

https://upload.astropixelprocessor.com/

Using upload3 as both username and password. That way we can try to reproduce the issue and search for the cause and possibly a fix.

@wvreeven

I tried :
with 100 files: failure
with 80 files: successful
with 50 files: successful (3 tests)

so my computer may not have enough power now :/

@yeantbron In that case I would suggest to integrate the lights in 4 batches of 50 each. When done you can load the four resulting files as lights and clear all calibration files. Then you can integrate those. This will do another star alignment and normalization as well.

Still, APP shouldn't just exist like this and I have informed Mabula about this.

Thank you, I was thinking of a hardware problem, I was about to change it, finally I will maybe wait for my 32GB of ram to come back.

However my computer is 9 years old, it may have had its day lol
