Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
I just have uplaoded version 1.077 for windows.
Till now never problems with APP but since the updata regularly the program really vanish: without warning the program disappears.
I have a Canon 6D Mark2, and use raw images.
Especially it looks as if it happens when I use no darks and only flats. But even when I only intergrate 'lights'. Are there conditions this happens: other ASA used in the flats as in the lights? is this a CPU problem. What çan be the problem. I get frustrated.

Mmm, I wonder if this is related to an issue with the GPU drivers, I've tagged your post for Mabula to have a closer look at it. We might ask you to upload a few raw frames when necessary.
hallo vincent
Dank daarvoor.

Hi Wim @wim-schmidt,
Can you please post your messages in English ? This is an international English forum. Thanks 😉
It sounds like a fatal error to me somehow. Have you set the amount of memory for APP to use more than 2GBs of RAM with the CFG button ?
If you want me to have a look at your frames, please upload them here:

username and password : appuser
Please create a folder with your name let me know once uploaded and I will have a look as soon as possible.

I uploaded 7 darks but, wrongly, to the root . I can't correct it. sorry.
Dear Wim @wim-schmidt,
What have you done with these CR2 files? Other image processing applications like Pixinsight also can't open these.
I will investigate to see what exactly is happening, but my suspicion is that these are not CR2s directly from your camera but have been altered by some other application. Is that correct?
Googling tells me that you have altered these CR2s with Photoshop, because there are also XMP files.
Kind regards,
Mabula

Hi Wim @wim-schmidt,
The fatal error on your images comes from the lastest LibRaw build. It can't process these CR2s due to their manipulation by Photoshop. That also explains why other applications can't read your CR2 files.
So this is an error out of my control.
Since the files that you uploaded are darks, I think it is good to point out, that data calibration (to work properly) needs unaltered data straight from the camera. So I can't recommend to first process these darks with photoshop and then still use them for data calibration. That will lead to many possible problems and unexpected results.
Kind regards,
Mabula
Thanks,
strange. I did not remember doing anything with these files except opening them in ACDSEE.
But other darks are working fine, so I deleted them. This was indeed the problem. Further now APP works flawless.
greetings wim
Hi Wim @wim-schmidt,
Okay, that is good to hear.
You want to be careful that other applications don't make alterations to your raw frames. That is what happened here. Did ACDSEE make those XMP files?
