Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

yesterday and the day before I had to test my new camera (ASI294MC pro) while it was somewhat clear skies since a long time.... took shots at gain 120, -10C, 120sec/300sec/600sec. Total exposure 183min.

SW150 pds, NEQ6, asiair, 60mm guidescope with ASI120mc.

Let me know what to improve please…..

Looking pretty good I'd say! This will benefit from HDR processing, which is not (yet) in APP. Anyway, I would add a bit of the "light pollution correction" tool over it. Lower left corner is darker than other parts.

@vincent-mod

Bedankt Vincent! I’ll try more and longer in the light pollution removal tool. I seem to keep struggling with this tool to get an even LP removal. Especially placement and amount of boxes....

I used your jpeg to show it a bit, careful not to include the super bright gradient from the star as it's tricky to get that nicely reduced. Like so;

And then continued with background calibration, star color calibration and a slight extra stretch with saturation turned up a notch, bit of extra contrast and some sharpening. Like so;

Ofcourse, this is all down to my personal taste. 😉

Added some (1h 20min) Ha & OIII to the image with a Optlong L-Enhance filter. I think i need a lot more NB data to get all the data from this subject, but it is a start.
