Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Are you using the latest APP version? This one does seem tricky as the comet almost has no clear nucleus it seems.
Yes:
The Comet C/2020 F5 MASTER is ca. 16.0 Mag. with less nucleus, but not tricky.
The problem is I cloud not select the Comet. APP always selects the Star and no way to the comet. Faint comets have no or less nucleus and sometime they are near a Star, but stacking it, (no comet stacking) you see the nucleus very good.
No, I mean that the selection of the comet may be tricky for the APP algorithm in this specific case. Would be nice if you can share your data (like 10 lights and the calibration masters) so we can try to improve it.
Uploaded 10 of my Pictures with comet C2020 F5 MASTER.
Thanks Peter, I'll download it and have a look. If it indeed is an issue, I'll put it in our comet folder to see if we can use the data to further improve detection, if possible.
Can you also upload the calibration masters you used? I do see the comet indeed, but it's a tricky one. I've shared it with Mabula as well.
Have the same problem this week. Trying to catch the bright C2022 E3 ZTF and the faint C/2022 U2 Atlas comet together. It is not possible to select a faint nucleus. It jumps over to a brighter star.
