Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
I am trying to evaluate APP and my eval license expires in 15 days, so this is kind of urgent. I am attempting to create a mosaic out of 12 individual images. Everything seems to work fine until the very last step, when trying to save the resulting FITS image, APP crashes with the following error message: "file: C:\Astro\Mosaic\IC1805-RGB-session_1.fits - Encountered an Exception while saving...". I tried this multiple times and the result is always the same.Â
I am using Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 159GB free HDD space. My main intended use for APP is assembling large mosaics so this is a kind of a show stopper for me.Â
Any insight into what could be causing this and how to work around it would be highly appreciated.Â
I forgot to mention, APP version is 2.0.0-beta9_amd64
Dear Catalin @catalin59,
Thank you very much for reporting this issue.
Is there any reason that you are using the version 2.0.0-beta9_amd64?
Can you please try with the latest APP version 2.0.0-beta30 and let me know if all is okay then? You can download it here:
Astro Pixel Processor Windows 64-bit
https://appreleaseserver.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/latest-release/AstroPixelProcessor-latest-release-Windows-64-bit.zip
The file C:\Astro\Mosaic\IC1805-RGB-session_1.fits looks very normal in terms of characters, so it definitely should work. If it does not, maybe that location has a lock or you don't have proper access rights to that folder with the user that runs APP. Did you install APP for all users, or only for your own user? What happens if you try to save it somewhere in your documents folder or perhaps on another partition/harddisk?

@mabula-admin The reason I was using beta9 is because it was the first in the list, I did not realize it was inverse lexicographic order and there were newer versions down the list. I switched to beta30 and the probem went away. Thanks for the suggestion.Â
