Hi there,

having issues with running app on my intel laptop windows 10, 32GB ram, lots of disk space, 11 threads.

Processing a 3x2 mosaic - 72 LRGB lights in total (so not huge) and the associated calibration frames.

Keeps crashing (100% of the time) either on star count or occasionally makes it through to registration where it will crash.

Any ideas?

regards

Andrew

Mmm, seems like Java is crashing. What APP version is this?

Oh nevermind, that was in the title. 😉 A full restart doesn't solve this?

Hi Vincent,

Thanks for the reply, just tried and no improvement.

I also noticed that I seem to have had 1.083 and 2.0.0. installed at the same time. So i've removed both, restarted and then another fresh install of 2.0.0.

Still crashing fairly quickly after starting analyse stars section.

regards

Andrew

thanks! If it helps eliminate the data as a problem, my old macbook running os 10.11.6 with APP 1.083.2 processes the mosaic successfully all the way through to integration (although it's struggling with memory with such a big file!) cheers again

Hi @andrewoliverriley,

Thank you very much for reporting these crashes. I have looked at the details and I see that both files that cause the crash are Windows DLLs:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ucrtbase.dll

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll

So to me this looks like your windows installation has some corrupt DLL files that you need to fix/repair and then all will be fine. Our development platform needs to use these windows files and they are on every windows installation clearly.

The fact that your mac can process the data without these crashes is more confirmation that something is wrong with your windows installation.

Lastly, I have never seen this problem being reported in these 2 windows DLL files, so it makes it very likely that a fix of Windows will fix this 😉

@mabula-admin hi there, I've got a new ucrtbase.dll but the problem is still happening. Very quickly after start "analyse stars" the app crashes.

I've upgraded to the latest beta.

Hi there,

FYI I've just installed 1.083.4 on the same machine and run through the same set of lights and calibration files. It all works fine and produces integrations no problem.

Hi Andrew @andrewoliverriley,

Oh that is not nice...

I am not sure how you got a new ucrtbase.dll file, but the crash is happening there, so it is still a windows problem I think and not a bug in our code. Maybe you need to check for the correct version of that file? Newer versions or older versions of that file might not be compatible with the current windows installation that you have...

Perhaps you can share how you replaced the earlier ucrtbase.dll file version 10.0.19041.789, time stamp: 0x2bd748bf ?

I have not heard about this error from anyone else so it seams very specific still to your windows installation.
