Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
I have two minor suggestions (and sorry if they have been suggested before):
1. I would like the caption on that button to change to show the path/directory selected when it is selected.
2. I would like APP to remember my selection from last time (and show that on the button).

1) a path of a working directory can be very long, probably I can just show the last part of the path, so it fits into the button and that would still be clear to the user, right?
2) yes, is proposed and in my priorities list

I agree to your statement regarding 1. The full path is probably not required. It could be something like F://....../images/M33 or whatever.

Your first suggestion will be part of the next release, that will soon be released:
Remembering the work dir so APP starts with the old directory of the previous session, will probably be part of the release after the upcoming one.

Was any other decision made on APP remembering the last selected work directory? My personal opinion is that it will make things easier if APP present the last selected/used work directory instead of "Documents"
This is so called quick-win function, just implement it Mabula 🙂 ...

I requested this same functionally a while back, but there was no reply.
I tried with 1.074.1 and APP still always defaults to "Documents" instead of the real (Saved) working directory.
Can this please be fixed?

Updates on big features are in the works, it's been a few months since the latest release but that's hardly a long time I think. I'll ask Mabula about the work directory save feature and why it's not there yet.
