Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Dear all. In the 2.0.0-Beta6 (Windows) release, in the "separate windows" view, top left pane, there is at the bottom a box called "right button".
It doesn't do anything, but it increases in size onze you enlarge the window, eating up valuable screen real estate.
It's the minutest of RfC's, I know, but therefore probably also one of the easier ones to fix?
Mm, I've seen that one pop up before indeed. Going to investigate further, thanks for the heads-up.

Unfortunately, I was premature in my happiness. The issue is gone when using my second screen, but still there on my laptop. When I get home I’ll try to (not forget to) post a screenshot.

Can you try the following for me on your laptop? Please reset all setting to it's default using the button in the new License & Settings menu. Is the issue still there then after the reset? If so, what window configuration are you using? Do you have the frame list panel in it's own window? Image viewer as well? Or is everything in the main application window?

- both in the default config (although smaller) and in my preferred config
- see screenshot: image viewer as a separate window, frame list separately as well.
- "right button" only appears on the bottom of the main window.
strangely it was gone after I first downloaded beta33, but as soon as I switched from a two-monitor setup (my home office) to a one-monitor setup (my couch) it returned, and hasn't left since.

Thank you very much for the details. I have made a new issue on my list to address this as soon as possible. Does the "Right button" still appear after a new reset in APP and then again detaching the frame list? Or does it only occur when switching from two to one monitor?
Sorry for more questions from my side, I think I that I do have enough information now to get this fixed finally 😉 I will report back later when I think that I have fixed it.

Thank you very much for reporting this issue again and for submitting all those details so I could duplicate it.
I have found the issue now and have properly fixed it. I also saw that the weird Right Button could pop-up when working in tools like the Remove Light Pollution Tool when the frame list panel was in it's own window. Any change in the window size of the main application window would show that weird button... No longer in 2.0.0-beta35 😊 I aim to release it before March 15.

As reported here: https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/rfcs-request-for-changes/beta-2-0-0-beta6-qol-rfc-right-button-box/ , if you have the frame list panel in a separate window (You can set that in License & Settings) then in some cases a weird and big "RIGHT BUTTON" can be shown at the bottom of the main window. This has been fixed. The issue could also be created when you are in tool like the Remove Light Pollution tool where the frame list is automatically hidden. This has also been fixed.
