Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hi all,

I would like to ask if my workflow is valid when extracting Halfa and OIII from the lights.

I first use in tab 0 Adaptive Airy Disk and integrate so that I get the "RGB" version of the stack.

Then I go back to tab 0 and change to Ha-OIII extract Ha  when done I go back to tab 0 and change to Ha-OIII extract OIII

Is this correct to do or should I begin from 0 and reload everything, then go to extract Ha and again the same reload and do extract OIII???

The first aproach saves a lot of time.

Thanks for any feedback

Yes, that’s a good workflow if you don’t have RGB-data. I strongly recommend shooting RGB as well and combining all the data sets for the best results.

My understanding is that you should do "Ha-OIII Color" to do your dual band processing in one step. This should give you the best color version of your dual band filter data. Or you can do "Ha-OIII extract Ha" and "Ha-OIII extract OIII" if you want to do RGB combine later for HOO or other processing. Check out the tooltip by hovering over the algorithm selection box. The last paragraph describes "Ha-OIII Color" process.

@astrogee Thanks a lot for pointing that out, right now I started a new integration with that option.

Adaptive Airy Disc and Ha-Oiii Color are the same.

To achieve the best quality  you should extract the channels separate.

@digitaliz-se Hi Stefan,

the "Ha-OIII-color" algorithm is an improved algorithm over AAD. Regarding the tooltip the red channel is treated different.
