Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I bought a Optolong Ultimate dual narrow band filter to use with my 2600MCP.  I need to shoot some light flats as soon as it quits raining outside.  Are flats with a filter shot and processed differently than w/o a filter?

Thanks,

Not really, but you do want to assign them to only the filter with the corresponding flats, using multi-channel processing.

Hi @szumi,

Flats are shot to correct illumination problems like vignetting of the optics and dust on your sensor. For flats the basic principle is that you need to shoot flats with the same optical setup and focus as you shoot your lights. So if you shoot lights with a filter, you need to shoot flats with that filter and also use the same focus as the lights. The principle for flats is the same for filters or no filters 😉
