Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hello All,

I am a bit new to APP. So, do forgive perhaps the same question about star analysis failure.

Basically, I photographed M97 using 15 sec exposure on my C11 and ASI533. Although I can clearly count up to 20 or so stars on my images, the APP fails to register them. I did try unticking automatic stars target which was already at its lowest setting. It does not seem to help. I have attached the file in question. Any useful tips?

Mmm, well that is a very challenging sub for the software to register. Humans are very good in picking out things amongst the background, algorithms can struggle a bit. 🙂 You can try to download and use APP 1.083-beta4 (links on top of this forum) which has an improved registration. But if that doesn't work, you'd have to get better data basically.
