May 27 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta45 has been released !

Fully Multi-Threaded LNC, many improvements for the registration engine, platform upgrade, and further tuning of internal memory consumption and memory release back to OS.

Apr 14 2026: Google Pay, Apple Pay & WeChat Pay added as payment options

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hi Wouter/Vincent,

Recently I got some dark calibration problems on my LRGBHA data. Also after an update to the latest beta 13 version.

I used the same Temperature, Exposure time, Gain and Offset for my Lights and Darks. (-25, 180 sec, gain 130, offset 8)

For my Bias the same temperature, gain and offset (-25, 0.0001 sec, gain 130 offset 8)

My flats have the same gain and offset but a higher temperature of +11 degree.

I took 11 hours LRGBHA images of NGC 3184 with asi183 mm pro.  I attached the red calibrated file.

Any suggestions?

NGC 3184 met gain 130 offset 8 234 x min Red session 1 St

For the flats with a higher temperature, you also need bias or darkflats with the same temperature especially if the difference is rather large. This is because the noise generated by the sensor changes. Also, I would advise to make bias frames with exposures of at least 0.6 seconds or so, quite a few sensors don't behave very nicely at the fastest speeds.

No complains about the flats. The problem is the dark calibration. Today I callibrated/integrated Lights of IC 342 of last week with the same darks I used for NGC 3184 an I did another attemps for NGC 3184 today.

The dark callibration of IC342 was perfect! but the dark calibration of NGC 3184 failed again. all same Temp. Exp. Gain and Offset

I enclosed the fitsheaders of the Lum files plus the dark.

I did not use flats or bias in both sessions above.

I see indeed you have no correction of the amp-glow. Can you see if the file in the table overview, shows that the MasterDark is used for calibration? This is shown by a "MD" being added to the lights.

I think it's best if you can upload a small set of your data to me, so I can check what's going on. Just the set that is failing is fine, you can upload 10 lights, 20 darks.

@vincent-mod.  Yes there are  BPM, MD, Darks, lights and a integration file in the table overvieuw.

Hi Dick,

So I have looked at the data you uploaded and the darks seems normal and do calibrate the amp-glow properly from each frame. The other light coming in in the upper left in the final integration is not in your darks and must be a new light pollution source.
