Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hello,
I have started evaluating APP as an application for alignment and stacking and so far I have been impressed with the results I have gotten. However, occasionally the software display seems to go a bit crazy, showing multiple iterations of a module window, making things impossible to use or read. For example, when I load up a series of Light images, a window pops up asking me to specify a channel. Every so often, that window just starts replicating on the screen making it unusable. I am running the software on an Alienware desk top with an 8 core processor and 32 gigs of ram. The operating system is Windows 10 Professional (64 bit). I can post a image of what I am seeing if that will help. Appreciate any suggestions you might have to fix this. I really like the capabilities and the results of this program, when it works for me.
Thanks!

EDIT by Mabula: Solved in 1.083
In doing a bit more research on the forum, I found the following thread that discusses exactly what I am seeing. Very basic problem with interface - AMD RYZEN incompatibility ? My system is also using a Ryzen zen 3 processor. I see in this thread, the issue is addressed in what was at the time(may or so this year) the latest Beta for APP. So my question is does the current Demo Version have these fixes? If so, then I am not certain why i am seeing this issue?
I have historically used Nebulosity to do my stacking work. Unfortunately, that program does not seem to be able to handle the large raw file sizes generated by my new QHY 268 camera. I like the capabilities that APP brings, and the in depth analysis of the images it provides. Hoping that this glitch has been fix and it is just a case of getting the updated version. If that is the case, then I am inclined to go ahead with a purchase of the software. Thanks for your time and Merry Christmas!

Dear Joseph,
Thank you very much for sharing your issue.
I think you are still using APP 1.082, which has this problem, right?
Please try our latest Beta version 1.083-beta3, the problem should be fixed in this new version 😉
Downloads are at the top of our forum for this latest beta release.
