We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Hello

I started using APP a few days ago. There are many things I don't understand, but the ones I'm currently having trouble with are:

There are column defects in the ccd image. Straight scratches.
Is there a way to get rid of this?

Hi Kunihiko,

I'm not seeing the image you posted properly. Did you use the "attach files" link when posting? Could you try again?

Ah, that looks like a column defect indeed. Your dark frames should show the same, do you have those?

Hello

I tried some things.
I tried Hot Column Kappa with 7.0 ( 2) Calibrate-Cosmetic Correction).

NGC Blue Column kappa(hot)

As a result, Column Defects appears to disappear.

Is this the correct way?
If so, how can I decide the appropriate value of Hot Column Kappa?

And what should I use Cold Column Kappa?

Excellent! Yes, that is a great way if regular darks don't fix it. You can load in a single light and test a few kappa values, then switch to "l-calibrated" view by selecting this on top of the preview-window to see if the line is gone. If not, you change the kappa value slightly and check again. That way you can see the correction directly before doing the entire integration process.

Cold kappa is for cold pixels and these are almost not present in todays sensors. Cold pixels will look like dark spots.

Hello

Thank you very much.
I understood Hot Column KAPPA.
And I was satisfied with the effects of that.

I hope you have a good weather.
