Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

wizard droplet 0.5 scale 2.0 session 1 St

This is 17 hours of data, OSC camera, 3 minute subs.  When I do integration without drizzle there is no artifact.  The data is undersampled, dither is 10 pixels.  In the integration tab I have it set to drizzle, droplet size 0.5 and scale 2.0.

Any suggestions.  Should I be using the Bayer/Xtrans drizzle?

Not sure in this case, does this also happen when you increase the droplet size to e.g. 0.7?

I haven't tried any other size.  I will try 0.7.

Hi Andrew @adstottyahoo-com,

The screenshot indicates that with the used settings too little data is receiving drizzle droplets, normally a larger droplet size will fix it quickly.

On the other hand, you seem to have more than enough data for those settings. Was every frame properly dithered?

I double checked my settings in NINA.  When I set these settings into NINA is used a dither calculator; I just double checked the calculations.    I have my guide camera set to 14 pixel dither which is 20 pixel dither on my 294 MC pro.  It's a random dither setting and every third frame is dithered.

Would it help to post the drizzle image to the Synology server and have you take a look at it.  The added noise in the image has an odd appearance as well; difficult to describe.
