Apr 9 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 has been released !
It has a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration, for mosaics even faster! We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. Improved Outlier Rejection with LN 2.0 rejection. macOS CMD+A works now in file chooser ! And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming hours...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I was running version 1.0.83-beta3 and that was working well with a set
of frames on M33.
This afternoon I decided to install the latest version ( 1.0.83.3 ) and this
version only gives errors analizing, registering etc with almost all the
frames marked as bad/failed.
I reinstalled beta 3 and everything works well again!
Maybe something went wrong?? ( I tried on several data sets with the same result )

Just downloaded/installed the latest fix 1.0.83.4Â : same errors, it doesn't work
for several datasets that work fine with 1.0.83.beta3
Lot's of errors analyzing frames, registering frames etc.
I went back to 1.0.83.beta 3 and everything works fine again!
If you need some example data sets please let me know, I can upload
to dropbox or somewhere you enable me to upload to.

I just created the folder with a subfolder M33.
Setup used RC8, CCDT67 reducer, ASI224MC ( ! )
If needed I can upload more datasets but the error is the same
on all of them.
When not using the Masterdark and Masterflat it works but that
is not acceptable for me.
In the 1.0.83-beta3 it does work well also with MD and MF.
If I can help with more data or testing some parameters,
please let me know!

I continued testing different schemes where:
1) integrating without masterdark and masterflat works ( colors strange )
2) integrating with masterflat but no masterdark : fails
3) integrating with masterdark but no masterflat: fails
Then I checked again: I use an ASI224MC that has bayermatrix RGGB
Normally I use an ASI1600MCC that is somewere in China to be repaired
and has bayermatrix GRGB.
So I typed in tab 0, bayermatrix GRGB for 1, 2 and 3 and it fails!
Then I ran with bayermatrix RGGB and all started to work great!
So, this is my fault, sorry for the hazzle!!
