Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Looking to use an Astronomy Camera for time lapses.  This requires batch processing of dark subtraction, and also keeping a colored debay matrix as well as kicking the files out as TIF rather than FITs. (tiffs then get stretched and bulk editing in Lightroom)

I can easily do batch conversions of FIT to TIF, but the images are black and white and will have some slight amp-glow.  I hear PIX can do it, so I was curious if APP could do it as well.

I guess you can load in your data, go to the calibrate tab and calibrate them all, then further down you can save all calibrated frames. Then you can use these to convert to tif. Or is that not what you mean?

Will it save all calibrated frames as a color TIF?  Then yea.  Goals here are:

1. Dark, Flat and Bias subtracted from frame

2. Color frame

3. Export as TIF

I got the TIF portion handled easily by other programs, but the first 2 are the hurdle.

1. Yes, that's what the calibration does

2. It demosaics the frames as well, so when set correctly (usually automatic works, otherwise you might have to set "force CFA" on in tab 0) it saves it as color

3. You can batch save (tools menu) these files to convert them to tiff

OK, it worked.  Was able to save the calibrated files as a TIF in the output as well.  Now my next question is can any type of auto-stretch be attained like the 15% 20% etc that is in the DPP area?
