Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.
It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...
Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
@mabula-admin I can confirm that (at least for me) the problem is no longer happening after upgrading my Mac Studio to macOS 14.3.
I could reproduce it at will before - happened all the time when closing the program after doing processing.

Can you please try again by first removing APP completely and then installing our latest version?
I think you can also try Sonoma 14.4 now?
To be clear, you indicate No change, but I need to verify what the behaviour is on your mac. Does APP crash when you click on the red radio button? Or does APP freeze up?
In beta29 which will be out soon, we have also added that APP will close correctly with the CMD-Q macOS shortcut to close an application.

I uninstalled APP previously and installed beta 2.0.0 beta 28.
Sonoma 14.4 is not available to me yet running 14.3
APP does not shut down when using the radio button, and the color wheel spins indefinitely until I force quite.
I will look for 14.4 and 29
FYI, I have sent the error reports requested by Apple and assume that those are available for your review.

Can you try with beta29 which I released today ? A new shutdown method has been implemented. Maybe that will fix it now on your mac? We have confirmation that the issue has been solved for everyone else though.

@mabula-admin, I'm glad to hear the radio button is functional and working well for others, sorry same as always here, requires a force quit.
Wait let me be clear, when I first just opened and closed without using the App it it still required forced quit.
But after I used it completely and processed some files it did work fine. Congrats.
In case it is of any interest, If I try to quit APP after opening without starting a processing session it continues to require a force quit.
If I quit after processing all is fine.
Update, sorry to say it does not work every time, sometimes it still hangs.
if it helps I can confirm that if I try to close after opening without doing anything it still hangs, but closes properly after a robust session.
