Can't open APP afte...

Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

It just doesn't launch or are you seeing at least it trying to start? Have you checked the security settings in MacOS, perhaps the update needs another permission to allow APP? I've notified Mabula so he can test as well.

It seemed to launch, but I couldn’t access anything in the program and the main working screen never opened. I re- download your software, and now it seems to work fine. I wish I had done that before I bothered to write in the first place. Sorry to bother.  Thanks for responding so quickly.

That is interesting and could you try to reinstall APP just like @mac-daddy did? It seems we're having some issues whenever Apple updates MacOS, we'll investigate.

Well, I downloaded the newest beta version and after installing the same problem occurs. Importing lights, darks or Fits no problem at all. Also processing seems to work fine. It is only the RGB tool that 'gives up'.

Hi all @mac-daddy @mike-berk @vincent-mod,

Thank you very much for reporting this issue. I will test this myself today.

I understand that redownloading and re-installing seems to fix this, which definitely indicates a security issue/update from Apple is causing this behaviour.

That is weird, I will test the tool as well. Do I understand correctly that you have loaded data into the tool with a suitable formula and that clicking on calculate does nothing? Or is it working then but no image is shown after the calculation?

Hi, I made another attempt, also again with a second download. Strange enough it seems to work fine again. `it beats me' , but pleased it is working.

Thanks for the support.
