Hi, I couldn't find an answer to this, so I thought I would post it here. I currently have a renters license that expires at the end of this year. Is there a discount to upgrade to the owner's license? I'm enjoying this software and I know I will continue to use it so I thought I might as buy the owner's version.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for using it! 🙂 We don't have an upgrade-path in that sense, it's either renting or a buyers license. We did this because some don't like renting software, others don't mind, so we gave everyone an option there.

To be sure, just send a message to support@astropixelprocessor.com which Mabula can answer.

@vincent-mod Hi, Yes, you are correct. I was hoping maybe a discount for the remainder of my renter's licence, but nope. It doesn't really matter, I'll wait until it expires and then get an upgrade once it expires. Typically, I prefer to own software as I feel this subscription-type model is simply too expensive by the time I get a bunch of software packages. But I like APP a lot. I also use Pixinsight, but I'm finding better results with APP as far as stacking and their TOOLS tab.

I think APP does a better job with stacking than PI, in my opinion. Like a lot of people, I do all of my stacking here & then take the stacked images into PI for processing. A pretty common approach.
