Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual
We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.
Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.
Hey guys. I have an issue, not sure to resolve. I'm trying to combine a dual band filter with OSC and having issues. Here is my work flow.
Ha- OIII - extract Ha
Ha-OIII extract OIII
Save off files, Restart APP
OSC process as normal
Save off file, Restart APP
Load OSC fits and calibrate to split into R,G,B channels
Restart APP
Load Ha, OIII, R,G,B files and Register and normalize,Â
Save off files
Restart APP load the 5 files and go to Combine RGB - Here lies the issue. For some reason, I consistently get a BLUE image or in some cases a RED image and the sliders give worse results. I've tried just running HaRGB and still get same effect. If I run the Ha OIII files separately in Combine RGB, image is fine. If I run the RGB files individually in Combine, everything is fine as well.Â
I found a thread that says getting BLUE or RED or GREEN images is because there is an issue with mapping somewhere. I've fiddled around with all the sliders and always get the same thing. It seems that when it goes south is when I try to Register and Normalize the 5 files, then try to Combine in RGB. Otherwise, if I run just run the OSC data as a stand alone FITS and Run the Ha and OIII separate, it seems to work fine.
Hi Conrad.
Though it's a long time ago (I do stretching and channel combination now in PixInsight), I kind of remember that you have to activate "neutralize-BG" - in the right, the 2nd row below the histogram.
Best regards.
