Several ZWO cameras suffer from a microlensing effect when photgraphing bright stars. Especially the popular 1600mm pro suffers from this. It seems like the pattern is somewhat the same with every bright star. Wouldn't it be possible to identify this pattern and correct it with APP?

Not really I'm afraid, you could try the star reduction algorithm a bit, but not sure if that works nicely on very bright stars or gives a better result.

I'm sorry to hear that. The shape of the reflections are similar and could perhaps be detected by smart AI.

It would also get you quite some new customers. The 1600mm microlensing effect is bothering quite some users.

Totally agree, but that's an issue that ASI basically should solve, it would be nice if we could do that of course.

It would require a deconvolution of the full image. The micro lensing effect is best visible on bright stars but it affects every pixel.

That can also work indeed (if that would result in something nice, not sure). Deconvolution is something that'll be coming in APP, but not yet possible.
