Request: CSV Export...

Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

Loyal APP user for a few years. I love this program, and I keep discovering helpful features. Thank you.

My request is to give the ability to export/import CSV data of the file list at the bottom, including all of the quality and registration data. When I generate the quality graph of frames I then want to select/de-select files based on a percentage of quality across multiple sessions. Once I'm done with all my stacking and processing the list is completely gone when I close the program. If I want to reprocess the same data, I have to load it all over again. Would be nice to export/import the file list and registration data so that I can import it later, but also so that I can do my own analysis of the frames in a spreadsheet more friendly to analyze externally and then report on the actual frames stacked for posting to Astrobin.

Hi Ashley @goateeap,

Thank you very much for your nice feedback 🙂 !

We are working on APP 2.0.0-stable which will provide complete save and load of whole projects including those metrics 😉 So there will be no need for a c.s.v. file I feel ?

@mabula-admin This is wonderful news! That will save much time. If it is not too much trouble I would still like the CSV export option so that I can do my own statistical analysis in spreadsheet and then pick by hand the images to stack based on registration data. Not urgent. Please prioritize according to your needs.

Thank you so much for this wonderful software. I have enjoyed using it for three years now and watching it grow. Well done!

Ability to export / import will be a really big help - it is very tedious having to re-make the input list every time.

Can I just add to your answer that the export / import format should be machine / human readable. I would like to be able to export the list, adjust it, then import it with the updated info.

As for other posters, the ability to export/import stack list with quality stats would be incredibly useful. I've just gone back over 5 years of data to reprocess one target, and firstly let me say that APP handled multiple sessions/multiple filters without issues so that was great. You mention that the export/import function will be in 2.0.0-stable. I'm on 2.0.0-beta26 but I can't see any sign of this function unless I'm missing something. Any update on when the export/import file list  function will be available?

Hi @pootle and @sjf,

If you right mouse click on the frame list you can export the result to a CSV file now so you can add data to a spreadsheet 😉 We have not yet implemented an import yet.

Well, I hope that import makes in to a release soon! A few months back it was noted as a not that difficult to implement highly requested feature.
