UPDATE FROM MABULA
I have had a very rough 2 months unfortunately health wise. I was struck 3x in a row with bacterial infections. The second infection occurred  after a routine hospital checkup and I became very sick. I had to rest and take a lot of antibiotics. Once I was recovering and restarting work 1 month ago, I again became sick. The infection was not yet gone, so even more antibiotics and rest was needed. Needless to say, it took a lot of my energy and I needed a lot of rest.
Finally, the infection is really gone and my energy is coming back step-by-step now and I have started work again. I am terribly sorry to have kept you waiting for support. I will address all outstanding questions and e-mails step-by step and will be on the forum daily from today.
APP 2.0.0-beta47 will come soon as well, a lot of work was already completed before I became very ill, so the release is also nearly ready for you. Beta47 will be much faster actually. Many workflows will be more than 2x faster, mosaics can even be 10x faster than before because registration really received a major boost... all compared to beta46. Â Before I release it, I will make sure that everything is working properly and then I will release it.
Hello All.
Summernights in Denmark have been out of the ordinary this year, so i managed to catch a LOTS of Ha, for Luminosity during the Nautical Darkness. Now.... Astro-Darkness will soon be back - and its time for collection light for my project.
I have nearly 8 hours of Ha-data - calibrated with Darks, Flats, Bias - and the question is; Should i do Lightpollution correction before- or after adding Lights-data ? If YES; Should my data be saved as "Non-stretched" as .fits ?
Kind regardsÂ
Hi Tom, as far as I understand Light Pollution Correction is one of the last steps after the integration is done. What is not quite clear to me when you mean "time for collecting light" do you mean Luminance/RGB?
If yes, I would just throw everything together in the Multi Filter Processing. I personally always calibrate all subs first (Calibrate - Save calibrated Frames). When I have everything calibrated, I clear everything and add all calibrated frames per filter. In that way I make sure that some other subs are not calibrated again (maybe this is the purpose for the multi session option but I never needed that in the past).
Best Frank

Hi Tom @tomzdk,
Just to recap to make sure I understand correctly
- you have captured a lot H-alpha data already and
- now you want to add light data, do you mean broadband RGB data with that?
In almost all cases, light pollution can be done after integration of all data. But if you are carefull, performing light pollution correction on indiivdual frames can be done as well. It's more time consuming, but it sometimes can help. You need to be carefull though, the individual subs have less quality, so it's easier to make a bad correction. My advice would be to perform a careful initial correction.
The Remove Light Pollution tools saves the result with postfix -lpc-cbg, meaning Light Pollution Corrected and BackGround Calibrated. These files are always saved without any stretch, so the linear character of the data is preserved. If you save the result from light-pollution correction by using the save button below the histogram, save it without stretch to preserve the linear character of the data.
Let me know if this answers your question 😉
Kind regards,
