Mar 28 2026 APP 2.0.0-beta40 will be released in 7 days.

It did take a long time to have the work finished on this and it  will have a major performance boost of 30-50% over 2.0.0-beta39 from calibration to integration. We extensively optimized many critical parts of APP. All has been tested to guarantee correct optimizations. Drizzle and image resampling is much faster for instance, those modules have been completely rewritten. Much less memory usage. LNC 2.0 will be released which works much better and faster than LNC in it's current state. And more, all will be added to the release notes in the coming weeks...

Update on the 2.0.0 release & the full manual

We are getting close to the 2.0.0 stable release and the full manual. The manual will soon become available on the website and also in PDF format. Both versions will be identical and once released, will start to follow the APP release cycle and thus will stay up-to-date to the latest APP version.

Once 2.0.0 is released, the price for APP will increase. Owner's license holders will not need to pay an upgrade fee to use 2.0.0, neither do Renter's license holders.

I am having problems with this can someone please check/confirm issue.

I am trying to register and then save out two previous integrated frames ready for rgb combine, a ha mono, and a rgb colour ready for hargb composition.

i load in the two frames using other/processed button.

I analyse and register, and check registration using the viewer ‘registered’ dropdown, registration is OK!!!

i then either use the ‘save registered files’ button, or the then normalise and use ‘save normalised frames’ button.

eitherway, the saved out files are the UNregistered ones, NOT the registered ones as seen in the viewer.

i have tried this with several sets of data, it registers fine in viewer, but saves out unregistered files.

i hve done this many times before on old versions, so am pretty sure it is a new phenomenon in this or recent betas.

anyone else have this??

thanks.

Hallo Andy,
I often do this, but I load the files to register as Lights. Please try this method.

Regards, Wolfgang

Thanks for replying Wolfgang, if I’m honest I made a mistake in my post, I do load as lights for this stage, i got confused.

So yes, I still have the problem, and it is only recent, so on latest, or recent betas.

i need someone to just to test on  beta 26 if the can save out two or more registered files, and have them be ok.  ( theynload into rgb combine with no mis alignment).

I then know it is something at my end process.

Hi @andybooth,

Sorry to have kept you waiting, I have tried just now with 2.0.0-beta26.

1) loaded the frames to be registered as lights

2) registered them at step 4)Register

3) save registered frames, chose the save folder and i received two registered frames with -reg postfix added. The frames that were saved are correctly registered and saved in the correct folder.

These files that are saved come in the frame list as other/processed, so they will need mess up the processing of currently loaded lights for a project.

Can you please confirm from your end that everything is okay, or not?
